Sanchit Arora, founder of RENESA Architecture Design Interiors, approaches design through a close relationship between material, form and the way spaces are experienced.
Rooted in the Indian built landscape yet distinctly contemporary, his work reinterprets familiar architectural ideas through a progressive and expressive lens. For Brick by Brick, he worked alongside Janvi Bhatia, interior architect at RENESA and Head Designer for the collection.
Brick by Brick begins with one of architecture’s simplest units: the brick, and the many spatial ideas that can grow from it. Drawing from thresholds, courtyards, passages, sections and the layered character of Indian architecture, the collection compresses elements of the built environment into a series of tactile compositions. Plans, elevations and spatial memories are no longer confined to drawings; they become surfaces to move across and experience. Through geometry, changing depth and an earth-led palette, each piece explores a different relationship with space, turning the rug from something placed within architecture into an architectural element in itself.
